Why do we give?

To Spread the Gospel and expand the Kingdom of God

God has ordained (established by a higher decree) for people to be saved by hearing the gospel, but how can they be saved without someone preaching that gospel.
 
By giving into the Kingdom we can support the Kingdom, help the poor, and send people out as missionaries. In these ministries the opportunities come to preach the gospel.
 
We keep the church alive for a future generation who can run with God’s vision and keep the Church in faith.
 
Where would we be today if the church was never established and supported throughout previous generations?
 
1 Corinthians 1:21 (NKJV) “For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.”
 
1 Corinthians 9:14 (NIV) “In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.”

So does God need our finances?

The truth is that God doesn’t need our resources to accomplish His plans and purposes. After all, His Own resources are far greater than ours Psalm 50:10 (NKJV) “For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills” and He needs nothing from us. What He desires, however, and what He values, is the heart that overflows with gratitude and thanksgiving to God who saved us and who gives us all things, knowing our needs before we even ask Matt 6:8 (NKJV) “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him”
 
Such a heart gives generously, willingly, and cheerfully in response to the love and grace that abounds in Christ. This is why we believe it is important to contribute to a local church.
 
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NKJV) “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
